Civic Grant Funds
Helping people overcome challenges
The University of Glasgow, as a civic institution, is serious about helping community leaders and groups overcome the challenges they face, which is why it launched its Civic Grant Funds in April 2024 to support good causes and charitable projects within GRID.
The Civic Grant Funds recognise that some truly exceptional people and groups are working hard to help address deep-seated issues in the city and that they need support.
Critically, the University as the anchor institution wants to learn from, and continue to build relationships with local people within GRID as well as key organisations to support long-term community development.
The University believes it is the right thing to invest in initiatives that address social challenges within the University's surrounding areas, often focusing on issues such as education, health, economic development, and social inclusion.
The grant scheme is also a means to establish or deepen partnerships with local stakeholders, ensuring that the University's activities and the activities of GRID are aligned with the needs and priorities of the community it serves.
